What Gekko keeps, and for how long.
Last updated 4 November 2026
Who runs Gekko
Gekko and mygekko.si are run by Ishan. For anything about your data, write to ishanbhemal20@gmail.com.
This notice covers the website (mygekko.si, including /live/ and the driver store at /mip/), the Gekko IoT dashboard and hub (mygekko.si/iot/), and Gekko MCP, the software you run on your own computer.
The website
The website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, ads or third-party content: its fonts and scripts come from mygekko.si itself.
Like every web server, ours writes each request to a log: your IP address, the time, the page asked for, your browser’s identification and the response. We use these logs only to keep the service running and secure, and they are deleted after 14 days. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure service (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
The IoT dashboard and hub
If you use the IoT dashboard, the hub stores what it needs to run your boards:
- Your account: the name you are known by. Your owner key is stored only as a hash.
- Your boards: their names, the readings they report, the commands sent to them and when they were last online. Readings are kept as one-minute averages for 7 days; recent commands are kept in a short log.
- Your applications: their names and settings, photos you upload for them, and up to 100 recent errors each.
- People you share with: the name you give them and their role. An invite link works once and expires after 24 hours.
- One cookie: a session cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. It is strictly necessary for signing in and is never used for tracking.
We use this data only to provide the service you asked for (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). It stays until you remove the board, application or person, or ask us to delete your account.
Gekko MCP on your computer
Gekko MCP runs on your own computer. It talks to your boards over USB and keeps its files there. It sends nothing to us, except when you use the IoT hub or install a driver from mygekko.si/mip, and then only the request itself, which is logged as described above.
Where your data is stored
Everything above is stored on a server we rent from Hostinger, located in India, so it is stored outside the European Union. Hostinger runs the server for us as our hosting provider. We do not sell your data or share it with anyone else, unless the law requires us to.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to get a copy in a portable form. Write to ishanbhemal20@gmail.com and we will answer within one month. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Changes
If this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it.
